Project Description:
ODL was contracted with Hanover to provide an unconventional mooring configuration and design for the IPF production barge of the Corocoro Field located in the Gulf of Paria in Venezuela.
ODL Scope of Work:
ODL provided the configuration and detailed design of the innovative IPF mooring system including all analyses, engineering, drafting, equipment specification and offshore installation support.
Key Details:
The mooring design consisted of mooring piles and above-water synthetic lines - considering that conventional mooring lines would be difficult in shallow water.
The design used manual chain stoppers and existing stock materials.
The cost was significantly lower than was budgeted.
This is the first mooring of this kind and is a ground-breaking solution for shallow water field development
