Floating Control Facility Concept Selection
• Timeline: 2008
• Location: WTR and Chandon Gas Fields
• Water Depth: 140m (WTR), 1200m (Chandon)
• Operator: Chevron
• Client: Chevron
Project Description:
Chevron planned to develop the West Tryal Rocks and Chandon gas fields located on the Northwest Shelf offshore Western Australia, approximately 67km northwest of the Barrow Island in 140m and 1200m of water respectively.
ODL Scope of Work:
ODL performed a study for the concept screening and selection, and the feasibility evaluation of one the concept that was identified as the most cost-effective solution for the floating bouy.
Key Details:
Performed analysis on Global Performance, Hull Design, Mooring Design, Risers, Cost, and Schedule for various production structures.
Even though Chevron envisioned a floating control facility at both sites, ODL proved that a jacket was a better, more cost effective solution for the West Tryal Rocks region.
