Jian Gao P.E., PH-D.-General Manager
Dr. Jian Gao has more than twenty years of experience in the fields of structural engineering and engineering mechanics. He has gained ten years of experience within the universities and national laboratories specializing in structural design, advanced structural analysis, advanced engineering composite material testing and modeling. For the past thirteen years, he has been involved in offshore structural design and analysis, structural design review and verifications. His offshore experience encompasses both conceptual and detailed design and analyses for deepwater jackets, compliant towers and floating structures. Dr. Gao has strong knowledge of advance structural analyses of offshore structures including, time domain dynamic, fatigue, seismic and nonlinear analyses.
James Lee, P.E. , VP Installation
James Lee, P.E. , Vice President Business Development Engineering Services China
Mr. James Lee brings more than twenty-one years of experience in the offshore industry, exclusively in offshore platform installations including extensive experience with project management, engineering execution, field supervision, and technology pioneering. His engineering and naval architecture background spans across the range of fixed and floating structures. Mr. Lee was the project manager, engineering manager and the lead naval architect for twelve of ODL’s most successful projects.
Larry Chen, Ph. D., Senior Project Manager
More than 15 years of experience in the area of project engineering and management, installation engineering, field engineering (yard and offshore), global motion analysis for offshore oil & gas production, and transportation facilities and unique offshore facility for U.S. Navy. More than 3 years of experience in design, modeling and analysis of underwater vehicles, pipelaying analyses, with multi-body interactions.
Daejun Kim, Ph.D. – Naval Architect Manager
Dr. Daejun (DJ) Kim has more than eighteen years of experience in offshore/marine structure design and analysis (hydrodynamics, global motions, mooring system design and offshore platform installation), thirteen years of experience in marine engineering and analysis for various offshore platform including SPAR, TLP and fixed platform and five years of experience in ship design/construction as well as extensive experience in see trials and model tests. In additon, Dr. Kim had also performed various research projects for several years as a research associate in Texas A&M university. Dr. Kim has been the lead engineer for several major float-over projects for the past six years including many offshore field supports. He has developed sophisticated in-house float-over motion analysis tools (FOSIM V2.0) to deal with complicate float-over operations and this tool was succsessfully implemented to our latest float-over project. He has strong technical skills and broad design and marine analysis experience in various types of deepwater structures and fixed platforms. He has an in-depth knowledge of the industry design codes and standards and MOSES software.
Nathan Contreras, P.E. – Structural Engineering Manager
Mr. Nathan Contreras has ten years of engineering experience in the offshore oil and gas industry including three years of project management. He has an extensive background in areas of design and analysis with emphasis on deepwater jackets, floating structures, offshore installations, topsides design, and detailed engineering.
