Compliant Tower Engineering Team
A compliant tower is a fixed structure used to support a conventional deck for drilling and production operations. Contrary to traditional deepwater jackets, Compliant Towers are designed to have a larger natural period which enables the structure to sustain significant lateral deflections and forces. When the topside weight is very heavy and the well count is large, the compliant tower is much more attractive than a Spar or TLP due to lower fabrication costs and the ability to utilize a conventional riser system.
Currently, there are 4 Compliant Towers operating in the world. ODL employees and associates have played a major role in all four Compliant Towers from the conceptual design to the detailed design.
